Dr Jessica Muir is a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience supporting the emotional wellbeing of adults, families and children.
She currently works as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust in their Women’s Services’ staff support team. Prior to this role she worked as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in the Paediatric Psychology Service at Evelina Children’s Hospital with children and families who had chronic and long-term health conditions.
Jessica has extensive experience of supporting people who are managing significant life transitions, living with health conditions, coping with new diagnoses and experiencing a range of difficulties including low mood, anxiety, grief, burnout and stress. She holds particular expertise in areas relating to women’s health, maternal mental health and trauma.
Jessica takes a holistic approach to her work, ensuring that clients feel safe and supported to explore what is important to them. The wide range of training she has undertaken supports her to work collaboratively with clients and tailor her treatments to meet their needs.
She has a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which involved clinical training in diverse therapeutic modalities, including: Compassion Focused, Systemic, Narrative and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Jessica also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Communication with Children and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies from the Tavistock and Portman Clinic. She also has a Masters in Psychology and regularly enhances her professional development by undertaking relevant training courses.
